Life is a Dance:  Celebrating the arts at the Healing Garden on May Day 2010

Elaine Fong, Taiko Artist, joined the May Day festivities, offering her rythmic talents to the ground-breaking ceremonies for the new gardens to be developed over the summer.

Elaine came to the Healing Garden through her connection with Blanche Milligan, Executive Director of the Northeast Cultural Coop, a co-sponsor of the day's activities.

Special recognition was given to the Healing Gardeners, a collective group of gardening enthusiasts and landscaping professionals who donate their time and expertise to the Healing Garden.  Among those honored were Jay Bearfield, of Liquid Landscape Designs, Ed Coykendall of Landscape Artisans, Lorayne Black, LSA, and Tucker Smith, Master Gardener and Coordinator of the Healing Gardeners.

The celebration was created by a creative team of artists--Candace Anderson, Artist in Residence at the Healing Garden, Elizabeth Bernstein of the Hip Hop Mamas dance troupe, artist Bruce Davidson and photographer Elizabeth West . The Bella Cappella singers, led by Amy Meneely.
