Wine, Women & Shoes

The Virginia Thurston Healing Garden will host the first
Wine, Women & Shoes on April 28, 2007 in Boston.  New England’s first-ever Wine, Women & Shoes will include a fabulous runway fashion show, featuring shoes and accessories from Nordstrom and fashions from The Studio, TESS & CARLOS, Sumi Seo, and Sara Campbell, Ltd. The Emcee is Lisa Hughes, WBZ-TV. Runway models will be women who are either breast cancer survivors or relatives and close friends of survivors.

The fashion show will be preceded by a cocktail reception, during which guests will have an opportunity to select shoes while enjoying spectacular wines from select female-owned Napa Valley vineyards and sample delicacies prepared by top local chefs and restaurants. Shoes will be paired with the wines and food at the event.

During the reception, featured shoes will be passed among invitees on silver platters by Men With Heart, a Boston-based group of young businessmen who support The Healing Garden and other breast cancer causes. At the conclusion of the fashion show, there will be a live auction of several premiere offerings, including a tour of the featured Napa Valley vineyards.

The Healing Garden is actively seeking Leadership Gifts by individuals and corporate sponsors.  All proceeds will benefit The Virginia Thurston Healing Garden.  For sponsorship and partnership opportunities, please contact event co-chairs

Inspired by the genius and generosity of Founder and Creative Director Elaine Honig, Proprietor of Napa Valley’s Honig Vineyard, Wine, Women & Shoes was launched as a benefit for local women’s charities in different regions of the country.  The gala event has already enjoyed enormous success in locales from Napa Valley to Dallas and Sarasota to Oklahoma City.
